Educators gather 600 women for Wisconsin Extension Homemakers conference
The Wisconsin Extension Homemakers Council drew 594 members from counties across the state to Eau Claire October 3 and 4. The theme was The Key to the Treasures of Life is Education and featured 11 five hour learning sessions. Georgia Hoberg was re-elected president with Betty Hilbert as president-elect and Mae Flaig named second vice president. Donna Agness, NEHC president, praised the program, noted the group has broadened beyond homemaking to energy and family issues, and urged increased minority and disadvantaged outreach. The organization plans to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 1986 with a goal to double national membership to about 1.09 million in 33,142 clubs.
