State convention bilevel NFC criticizes farm bill provisions
About 700 delegates attended the National Farmers Organization convention in Wisconsin where featured speaker Bob Arndt challenged farm bill prices as unacceptable. NFC leaders urged cost of production plus a profit, and emphasized collective bargaining to raise farmers' income through a new marketing pattern and coordinated grain, meat, and dairy programs. Governors and state officials addressed the meeting and reinforced agriculture’s role in the economy.
