Simmentals attract highest bidding at Bull test sale
Sixty three bulls sold for an average of 1219 dollars Saturday at the Wisconsin Beef Improvement Association bull sale at the UW Platteville Pioneer Farm. The 63 animals produced 76797 dollars total for consignors to the Wisconsin Central Test. The sale average fell 70 dollars from last year as the test moved to a Green County farm for the first time. Don Witt housed the bulls for a 140 day test near Monticello with praise from WBIA member Leigh Tuckey for the quality and a higher roughage diet impacting gain.verbatim

The survey runs August 1 through 11 in the agriculture products building with random sampling and staff guidance, and a Seal of Excellence award may be earned by products rated very good or excellent by 80 percent or more of testers. The program has run since 1980 with 47 Wisconsin products earning the award.
