Retired Ridgeland farmer finds his calling in painting
At 80, Ridgeland resident Jacob Varnes has painted hundreds of oil works over 27 years, driven by a lifelong love of art. He leverages scenes from forests to oceans, Alaska to Wisconsin, often painting without formal lessons and selling pieces across 14 to 15 states.
