Dairymen debate quota plans and farm program stance
At an Obey agriculture listening session in Chippewa Falls dairy leaders and farmers debated a Gunderson base quota plan. They warned it could raise farm prices and favor large operations while the NFO proposal would cut milk cow numbers and pay a 200 dollar per cow cull. Wisconsin officials urged limits on casein imports and praised a voluntary reduction path, stressing survival and reforms at federal levels.
