Mid-Am to close Bloomer plant July 1 in shift of operations
Western Dairy Products will abandon its Bloomer whey processing site July 1 leaving Mid-Am to regain full control of the complex. The move follows loss of a major account believed to be Campbell Soup Co. as Western shifts production to its Louisville plant and outsources some processes. Mid-Am plans to expand capacity, possibly add a 5-pound mozzarella line, and retain some Western staff while evaluating new product lines.
