Pork producers seek label if nitrate ban hits Congress
About 75 attendees at a UW Extension pork seminar heard calls for a non nitrate pork label if a nitrate preservative ban moves forward. Ron Wright outlined promotion goals and funding from hog and breeder pig checkoffs. Attendees discussed vet school funding impacts on hog facilities and emphasized stronger public education to counter animal rights concerns. Philip Tremblay
