Dairy breakfast hosted by Siren Ag Club in Burnett County
The Siren High School Ag Club organized a June Dairy Month breakfast at the Coyour dairy farm drawing about 1,200 diners. Attendees enjoyed dairy products and wetlands themed dishes while touring a rebuilt 34 by 140 foot dairy setup valued at $120,000. The event funds scholarships and club activities as part of a long community farming tradition.

The Coyours showcase a 55-cow herd producing 11,400 pounds weekly milk with 4.7 percent butterfat and 3.7 percent protein. A standout four-year-old yielded 40 pounds of milk at 6 percent butterfat and 4 percent protein. Milk is sold via Tri-State Marketing Co-op with premiums for high-test product.

Lake City to Host Minnesota Regional Dairy Princess Contest
Lake City Minnesota and Wabasha County ADA will stage the Minnesota Regional Dairy Princess contest during the Water Ski Festival on June 27 and 28.
