Ag board bars chloramphenicol treated stock
The Wisconsin Board of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection approved an emergency rule banning importation of food producing animals treated with chloramphenicol. The ban covers all imports and targets Canada’s hog shipments. The rule takes effect immediately and lasts 150 days while permanent rules are written. Robert Uphoff, a Dane County official, commented on the action.

District 2 covers Buffalo, Clark, Eau Claire, Jackson, La Crosse, Pepin, Pierce, Trempealeau and Wood counties.
