Trempealeau economist to attend aging institute on scholarship
Trempealeau County extension home economist Kristine Blacklock has been named one of 15 recipients of a National Farm Foundation scholarship to attend the First Summer Extension Institute on Aging at the University of Missouri Columbia for two weeks. Blacklock, the only Wisconsin home economist invited, aims to develop county aging programs and share ideas from nutrition and nursing home visit initiatives. Her work includes Nutrition Bingo, plans for a newsletter “For 55 and Over,” and ongoing aging education amid concerns about social security and Medicare.
