Halvorson Fourth of July Picnic Reaches Centenary
The Halvorson family and neighbors marked the 100th anniversary of the Halvorson Fourth of July picnic in Canton near Rice Lake Barron County. About 240 attendees from 10 states joined in the century old tradition with recognitions for long participation, a horse draw wagon ride, and fond reminiscences of earlier picnics from the 1930s and 1940s.
