Parity gaps keep farmers from 100 percent parity
Washington reports that despite record prices for eggs and other highs, most commodities stay well below 100 percent parity. Eggs at 83.4 cents a dozen reach 71 percent parity, hogs at 44.80 a hundred are 68 percent, beef cattle at 73.40 a hundred are 74 percent, with crops and others also far from parity. Dairymen warned of further milk price cuts at meeting

Coughlin noted the dairy diversion program and predicted more reductions in February and March, with some farmers choosing not to enroll to retain independence.
