Winter drags on in Wisconsin as Eau Claire County Airport reports 48.1 inches of snow and 38 below zero days. The season featured a mix of thaw and cold with November snowfalls totaling 18.8 inches and a peak 6.4 inches on December 1, while February adds 2.2 inches and two subzero days.
State and three veterinarians at the Animal Health Laboratory agreed to a $10,000 each payout plus about $22,000 in legal fees. The deal prevents dismissal or pay reduction and marks the first use of the new whistleblower law restoring protection for staff who forward information.
Northern Wisconsin faces no major snowfall from Thursday to Saturday. Cold temperatures persist with highs near 10 to 15 degrees Thursday, and around 10 on Friday and Saturday. Lows range from 5 to 15 below Thursday and Friday, and 0 to 10 below Saturday. Skies expected mostly to partly cloudy.

A 30 000 county guides pamphlet will also be distributed listing local organizations and agencies for help.
