Controversy stalls Minnesota AVID Beef Packing Plant plan
Planning continues for a modern beef packing plant in Hayfield Minnesota despite negative local coverage and official hesitancy. Avowed backers Darrel Jones and Mark Moenning outlined site details, financing at 22 million, 735000 for buildings and land, 500 to 3000 head daily capacity, and potential 3 to 5 dollar per hundred savings for producers with 5 to 10 cent per pound consumer price relief.
