New Holsteins and buildings rejuvenate Clinton Stock Farm

Open house weekend at the old Clinton Stock Farm west of Barron showcases the new Indian Head Holsteins Ltd. operation. Bob and Karyn Schauf, Carl Nelson’s descendants, rebuilt the dairy, moving 180 registered cows from Richland Center to Barron, creating a modern 40 by 252 foot milking barn with 80 stalls and pipeline milking after a long family project.

Alpine Haven dairy grows with Sadie lineage and new herd plans

Bob and Karyn Schauf expand Alpine Haven dairy operations with an 80 cow milking herd at the Wisconsin site and additional cattle at Barron and Richland Center. The herd traces to Sadie, Triune Osmsby Sadie a VG 89 dam with a 255000 pounds milk career, and includes Alpine Haven Sadies Star with 25950 pounds milk. They plan to lease 560 open acres, hire two full time workers, and use embryo transfer producing four heifer calves and two bulls for future stock. Their toddler Christian helps on the farm as labor plans unfold.
