Winter forecast says U S likely warmer and wetter says Gilman
Dr. Donald L. Gilman, chief long range forecaster, predicts a 60 to 65 percent chance of a warmer than average winter for the eastern United States and a wetter than normal season for most of the country. He cites warmer equatorial Pacific waters and jet stream shifts while disputing El Chichon dust effects and Old Farmer’s Almanac cold forecasts.
