Unusual barn cleaner earns praise for Lettner farm system
Dick Lettner of Trempealeau County Wisconsin and his wife Ann won a $500 American Farm Bureau prize for a no moving parts manure handling system in their 136 foot dairy barn. The design uses fermentation to move manure to a Slurry Store, inspired by West German practice, and has drawn inquiries from farmers across 14 states and Canada.
