Clarence Olson UW Extension dairy scientist says DHI records will adjust production credits for cows in the first second and last month of lactation to better reflect actual production. Changes tied to the national program must take effect by Jan 1 1981.
The Winona area dairy day will be held Dec. 12 at St. Marys College. Registration begins at 10 a.m. Speakers include Dr. Clinton Meadows on Economics of Longevity in a Dairy Herd, Dr. Robert Wescott on Herd Health and Calving Interval, and Dr. Allan Bringe on Economics of Somatic Cell Testing and Mastitis Control. Cost is 5.50 per person including a noon luncheon. Dairymen and others from Wisconsin and Minnesota are invited.
