Wood science prize brings 1000 scholarship to 4-Her Steven Jenssen
Steven Jenssen, a 17 year old from rural Cumberland, earned a $1000 Weyerhaeuser Foundation 4-H wood science scholarship at the 60th National 4-H Congress in Chicago for his seven years in the program. He began in the Bone Lake Beavers club at age nine making puzzles and a birdhouse, later teaching woodworking and leading the project while juggling farm chores and school. The award caps a busy life that includes farm work on three family holdings, tractor operation, and leadership roles within 4-H.
