Wisconsin Soil and Water Conservation Conference Opens
The 28th annual Wisconsin Soil and Water Conservation Conference begins today at the Holiday Inn, with Third District Congressman Steve Gunderson and Lt Governor Russell Olson among featured speakers. Dunn County ADA membership soars after drives
Dunn County tripled ADA of Wisconsin members during the Oct 26 and Nov 2 drives, adding 400 members to 189 for a total of 589. John Frizzell credits neighbor calls and harvesting-time volunteers as key to the gain. Nationwide, 16,400 dairy farmers belong to ADA of Wisconsin.

Breeds to share headquarters by 1983 for Guernsey Jersey clubs
American Guernsey Cattle Club President Russell Wirt of Lewiston Minnesota and American Jersey Cattle Club President W C McGinnis of Kinards South Carolina said their boards will join efforts toward a common headquarters by January 1 1983 in Columbus Ohio. The Jersey group sold its building years ago and the Guernsey organization has now sold. They plan joint ownership of a permanent center later and will form a purebred registry while pursuing genetic recovery and uniform type appraisal as interim cooperative steps. The move aims to better serve Jersey and Guernsey dairymen nationwide.
