Chippewa DHIA Honors Top Dairymen at Chippewa Falls Meeting
Chippewa County Dairy Herd Improvement Association presented awards to 36 dairymen for butterfat production of 625 pounds or more. Peck Valley Dairy earned a 700 pound certificate for an 80 cow herd, Adams Valley View Dairy followed, with other 700 pound certificates going to Paul Faschingbauer and Jensen Brothers. Thirteen 1,000 pound certificates were awarded to eight dairymen, led by Valley Bean Farms Inc and Peck Valley Dairy with multiple cows over 1,000 pounds fat. The NSP Premier Dairyman Award went to Adams Valley View Farm. Allard Peck was elected to a three year cooperative board term. In 1981 Chippewa County had 114 herds averaging 15,276 pounds milk and 586 pounds fat per cow.
