Pierce County Fair Showcases Poetry and Art in Fair
Ellsworth area residents enjoy a long running Pierce County Fair highlighted by poetry from Otto Christenson and murals by David Markson. Markson, funded by a now-ended CETA program, painted barns and murals in rural western Wisconsin and now paints faces at the fair for 75 cents each. Christenson, Pierce County treasurer and fair official, has written fair time poems reflecting past and present fairs and modestly credits others for the art program.

Fairs Through Time From Nostalgia To Tomorrow
Poetic reflection on past and future fairs. The piece contrasts old time daytime carnivals with modern tech influenced visions, noting rides, exhibits, and memories. It ponders whether future fairs become what people make them, forecasting space, remote games, and satellite judging.
