Northwest Junior Livestock Show Tops 177 Animals for $56,000
Exhibitors from 13 west central counties sold 177 animals at the Northwest Junior Livestock Show last week, grossing $56,000 up about $4,000 from 1980 and trailing the 1979 record. Hogs averaged 64 cents, lambs 69 cents, and steers 66 cents per pound. Top buyers included WAXX radio for the grand champion barrow, Nielsen Ford for the grand champion lamb, and Kevin's Foods for the grand champion steer. Local county 4‑H and FFA sales may not have cut into the Northwest sale, with Clark County's exhibitors sweeping major honors including the grand champion hog and multiple breed champions.
