Minnesota Transportation Museum invites the public to ride locomotive 328 and an excursion train Aug 14 from City Park, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Excursions depart hourly to Lakeland for a 10 mile ride at 3 dollars for riders aged two and up. The Bayport run marks MTM’s last steam excursion in the valley this summer. Locomotive 328, a 10 wheeler built for Northern Pacific in 1907, returned to service after overhauls. NP retired it in 1950 and it stood in Stillwater from 1954 until MTM hauled it for overhaul in 1975.
