Chippewa County youth livestock sale grosses $25,284
Chippewa Falls hosts the third annual Chippewa County 4 H and FFA Livestock Auction at the Wisconsin State Fair on July 28. Twenty head of beef hogs and lambs sold totaling 25 284 41 dollars from 54 head. Grand champion beef weighed 1102 pounds sold to First National Bank of Chippewa Falls at 1450 per pound. Grand champion hog weighed 211 pounds sold at 210 per pound. 1982 champion was owned by Kyle Johnson of Stanley and bought by Farm and Fleet of Chippewa Falls. Nancy Whelan sold the grand champion lamb 109 pounds at 555 per pound to Grimms Processing Co. of New Auburn. Excluding champions prices were 79 cents beef 120 hogs and 80 lamb per pound. Beef gross 17388 73 hogs 6168 57 lambs 1727 11. Morrison Implement of Chippewa Falls was top buyer with six animals. There were 43 buyers registered, 30 bought.

Lamb pool planned for Aug 16 in Medford
The Medford lamb pool will be held August 16 at the Taylor County Fairgrounds Medford with market sheep and lambs received from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Insured semi-trailer trucks will ship to South St. Paul. Sheep will be fed and watered then sold to a broad demand by the Central Livestock Association, either for slaughter or feeding. Bonded checks will be mailed to owners from South St. Paul. no trades at Medford.

Marisa Cook Tops St Croix County Fair Horse Show
Marisa Cook of Riverside 4-H Club led the St Croix County Fair horse show on July 25 with four wins including pony and pony horsemanship. Pam and Susie Anne of Roberts each captured three events, while Heather Donnelly of Riverside 4-H earned two wins in English equitation and English pleasure.
