Julene Olsen, 10, of Mondamin, admitted to Mercy hospital as a polio patient, the ninth Mondawlin infantile paralysis case. An epidemiologist from the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, Dr. Herbert A. Wenner of the University of Kansas Medical Center, arrived to study the Harrison Pottawattamie outbreak. He will spend four to five days examining patients and tracing patterns, with 15 Mercy patients and additional cases in Harrison County. He plans to coordinate with local health officials to collect samples for laboratory analysis and identify outbreak patterns.

Girl's Leg Cut Fatal in Deserted House Incident
Katherine Ludemann 12 daughter of Mr and Mrs John B Ludemann of Charter Oak died in St Anthony's hospital after a severe cut on the left leg while playing in a deserted house. Attending physician attributed death to loss of blood. She was brought to Carroll at 6:30 p m Thursday and died without regaining consciousness. An artery and nerve in the leg were severed, the doctor said. She apparently fell on broken glass. Body returned to Charter Oak.
