18 year old held on murder charge after fatal shooting
Frederick Back, 18, is held in the Dubuque county jail pending an inquest into the death of 17 year old Francis Lampers. Lampers was shot during the dismantling of a shack used as a club headquarters on a farm near Dubuque. Sheriff Leo J. Elg said Back wielded the gun as Lampers died and that Back and Lampers had been in custody with six others last week for dismantling a closed tavern and building a clubhouse. The group was released to promise to tear down the shack and return equipment.
