AP reports Taft and Kefauver surveys shape Wisconsin and Nebraska contests. Taft leads Wisconsin editors for GOP nod. Kefauver moves to Nebraska to challenge Kerr in Democratic delegates. Eisenhower faces criticism from Minnesota activists over grassroots reach as Taft, Stassen, Warren vie for Wisconsin delegates and the Eisenhower ticket debate continues.
Des Moines Iowa newspaper notes that Reed 84 retires March 31 after 30 years as clerk of the federal court for the southern district of Iowa. Gene Poston Corydon attorney and Democratic leader will assume duties April 1. Reed began as U S marshal in 1914 and became court clerk in 1922. The post pays 8040 dollars annually.
Defense Mobilizer Charles E. Wilson says jet and tank production will rise sharply in 1952. In a speech to the American Society of Tool Engineers he asserts end of 1952 output will be about 250 percent of late 1951 levels.
Samuel Stevenson 18 of Omaha died in an auto crash near Hamburg while returning from an Arkansas visit. Fremont County's first traffic fatality of the year. Three others injured, one possibly drowned. Two hospitalized at Hamburg in good condition. Stevensons parents named Charles and Mrs. Stevenson of Omaha.
American F-86 Sabre pilots fought a 40 minute dogfight over North Korea near Sinanju to the Yalu river, claiming at least three MiG-15s damaged and possibly eight, with two earlier engagements yielding five MiGs shot down and five damaged. Dark clouds hindered exact tallies. 28 Sabres tangled with 40 MiGs in the largest jet battle to date.
A mass student demonstration at Towa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant surprised President J Raymond Chadwick Thursday night. Students accused college leaders of declining enrollment, reduced faculty, and poor housing conditions while distributing street handbills and sending a letter to the trustees.
In Philadelphia Albert J. Cooney stopped his trolley after sighting house flames and sent a box alarm before resuming service. Moments later truck 24 collided head on with the trolley at a west Philadelphia intersection injuring five firefighters and three passengers, none seriously.

Capt. Earl E. Johnson 58 of 3108 Avenue I was injured in a freak two car crash on the Omaha side of Ak-Sar-Ben bridge Friday morning. He was treated and released from Douglas County Hospital for rib and head injuries. Charles Perkins 19 of 201 North Twenty-ninth Street was unhurt and faces reckless driving charges. Traffic police spent an hour clearing the mess as commuters faced slow congestion.
