Oil Pumping Halted at Iranian Refinery Field

Ambassador Sir Francis Shepherd said crude oil pumping from southern Iran’s Aghalari field has stopped after Anglo Iranian Oil Company pulled its tankers. Abadan refinery, fed by six fields, may run 10 to 14 days before storage runs out.

Monday Is Deadline on Homestead Credits

About 105 property owners who had homestead exemptions last year must apply again this year. The deadline is Monday per Deputy Assessor Tom Prouty. The exemption equals 25 per 1000 of assessed value with a maximum benefit of 62.50 on the tax bill.

DES MOINES The state patrol on Wednesday said 12 year old Billy Livingston of Jefferson died Tuesday when a farm tractor overturned in a ditch while being driven along a country road four miles west and half a mile south of Jefferson.
