Otto A. Wurl, chief probation officer for Pottawattamie county, was discharged effective July 1 after a June 1 termination letter signed by District Judge R. Kent v Martin. The five district judges and two municipal judges appoint the chief. Wurl, named in May 1944, previously led Council Bluffs public schools as director of physical education and safety for 21 years. Seventeen residents asked the city council to pave Avenue C between Seventeenth and Twentieth streets and offered to cover construction costs. Consulting engineer Charles W.
