Omaha Airplane Crash Injures Two Men in Cornfield Scene

Two Omaha men were hospitalized in fair to serious condition after a Thursday plane crash in a cornfield near North Fifteenth Street and River Boulevard. Pilot Harold Honeywell, 29, suffered possible skull fracture and facial injuries. passenger William Scarborough, 26, sustained severe head injuries and multiple fractures. Officials investigated, with police guarding the wreckage for inspectors. The aircraft, a converted Fairchild PT-26 owned by Aeroser Viet Inc, was described as a joy ride. Witnesses described a low flight, wing failure, and the plane breaking apart on impact. Both men regained consciousness but could not recall the crash.
