DES MOINES governor Leo Hoegh told the Iowa Tax Study Committee he would recommend keeping the state out of the property tax field and leaving the homestead tax credit system unchanged. He favored no changes after stating he has not studied details and will be a witness. He also supported abandoning the extra half cent sales tax in two years. The committee was advised to consider a payroll reduction system for state income tax.
