Jail Inmate Charlean Rutledge Slashes Wrists In Cell
Charlean Rutledge a 22 year old county jail inmate was found in her cell Saturday evening with both wrists slit. A trusted officer found her after seeing blood at the cell door. She used a broken water glass to cut herself after breaking it on bars. She was taken to Mercy hospital for treatment and is said to be recovering. Rutledge had been arrested on bad check charges and waived to district court while held in the county jail pending grand jury action. She came to Council Bluffs recently and worked as a cafe waitress, listing 37 Fifth Avenue as address and Clarion Iowa as her home.
