Kramme Jensen Wins Lower Bid for Council Bluffs Levee

Des Moines firm Kramme Jensen Construction submitted the lowest bid for Unit 1 of the Council Bluffs flood control project in Omaha district. Lt. Col. Freeman announced a bid of 396,932.84 dollars, below the government estimate of 360,000 dollars. Other bids from Peter Kiewit Sons and Congdon Cumineham exceeded 400,000 dollars. The levee project will extend about five miles along the Missouri river with grading, relocation, and minor structures, involving about 625,000 cubic yards of bankment.
