City approves truck route shifts and parking ban plan

Officials proposed a regular inter city truck route with southbound trucks turning at Broad Way Fourth Street and Pearl First Avenue while northbound traffic enters Broadway from Main Street. A bus zone move and parking removals on Broadway and Ninth Avenue were planned. changes could start Friday. Capt Winger met transit officers to push the plan as 23 meters would be removed downtown. City Hall attendees included the mayor police chief and city manager. Court Settles Steamship Line Fight

Washington reports the government and R Stanley Dollar interests settled a five year dispute over control of the Dollar steamship Line. Public sale rules set a minimum bid of 14 million dollars for the 92 percent stock block.
