Hospital Releases Two Polio Patients

Attendants at Mercy hospital announced Saturday the release of two polio patients, Glen Moore and James Bird sail, both of Mondamin. Logan canceled the Harrison county Fourth of July celebration on Saturday. Senate OKs 5 Billion for European Recovery Plan

Wallace Urged to Withdraw Candidacy at Minnesota Event

Byron Alen of Detroit Lakes, keynote speaker at a state democratic formers labor party convention, urged Henry Wallace to abandon his mad course and withdraw as a third party presidential candidate. Allen, a 1944 DFL gubernatorial candidate and Wallace’s longtime personal friend, spoke Saturday in Brainerd Minnesota.

House Passes Stop-gap Farm Price Bill in Senate Handoff

The House approved a stop-gap farm price bill on Saturday after hours of debate over peanuts, extending price supports through June 30, 1950 for cotton, wheat, corn, tobacco, whole peanuts, dairy, hogs, poultry and eggs, and potatoes. Rogge Attacks Mundt Bill at Waterloo Convention

John Rogge former assistant attorney general told about 110 attendees at a Iowa convention to found Henry A Wallace's third party that the Mundt anti communist bill moves the country toward fascism. He called the bill a target on personal rights and warned it would allow government to favor the few over the many.
