13 Year Old Girl Drowns Protecting Brother at Lake Manawa

Violet Mae Coleman, 13, daughter of Mr and Mrs Noah Coleman of 8013 South Forty-fifth Street Omaha, drowned in Lake Manawa while trying to prevent her four year old brother Richard from entering the water. The incident occurred near shore shortly after 5 pm when she disappeared after stepping into a hole and could not be revived despite a long search and attempts at resuscitation.

Kaiser-Frazer settles with CIO United Auto Workers for 18 cent hourly wage rise and a new five cent hourly social security contribution. 150 Drowned as Danish Ship Sinks

About 150 Danes drowned Friday when the passenger vessel Kjoebenhavn struck a WWII mine and blew up in Kattegat.
