Two Omahans Die in Weekend Traffic Crash

Two Omaha residents died Saturday night after being struck at Forty-ninth Avenue and Dodge Street. Victims were William J. B. Mas din, 60, and Ruth Marie Bacret, about 40, pronounced dead on arrival at Douglas County Hospital. An eastbound car driven by 16-year-old Denny Abramson struck them, throwing Mas din and Bacret into the path of a second vehicle driven by 21-year-old Bille Petrick.

Methodists Boost Aid For Two Iowa Colleges

The Iowa Des Moines Conference of the Methodist Church voted to raise support for Iowa Wesleyan and Simpson Colleges. Each college could receive at least 52,000 per year, up from 1,900 last year, potentially reaching 70,000 yearly if church education support targets are met.
