Malvern Man Among 23 Killed in Panama C-54 Crash

West Palm Beach reports 23 killed when an Army C-54 transport crashed on Tobago Island near Panama City. Malvern native Capt. Robert F. McCormick, 26, co pilot and son of Mrs Earl McCormick, was among the dead. He served four and a half years in the air corps, including Europe duty. Surviving are his mother two sisters Percy and Margaret his widow Carolyn Tall of Malvern and their son Robert F. McCartell Jr.

Noted Educator Dead at Age of 100 Years

Dr. Ed Hwa P. Radhisteraiay, aged 100, died Monday in KOUK ISLAND area after a long career at Augustana College where he taught over 50 years. Known as the Grand Old Man, he suffered three strokes since last February and had been bedbound only in the last two weeks. Weather data from the U. S. Weather Bureau and nearby towns described fair conditions, warm temperatures reaching mid 90s, and scattered thunderstorms through Tuesday, with winds and variable cloudiness across Nebraska and Council Bluffs region.
