Water Crisis at Lake Manawa Threatens Fishing
Lake Manawa faces its worst water shortage since the 1930s with water nearly eight feet below normal and shoreline distant. Directors debated a $1,000 emergency plan to pump Missouri River water, while a state diversion from Mosquito Creek nears completion. If conditions worsen, fish may be moved to smaller ponds and restocked later, delaying fishing for up to three years.
