Mrs White Bound to Grand Jury on Abortion Charge

Mrs. Sarah J. White, 78, of 349 North First Street, was bound over to the grand jury under a $10,000 bond on a charge of attempting to produce abortion after a hearing before Municipal Judge Allan Ardedl. A 28-year-old Omaha woman testified she went to the White home in April and that Mrs. White gave both women pills. The witness said she later became ill and was hospitalized, and that she took seven or eight pills. The witness identified Mrs. White in court. Mrs. White did not testify. The case was prosecuted by Neon Jackson. J J Hess represented the defense. A crowd, mostly women, filled the courtroom.
