An Osage couple, Athos and Mrs. Lavejoy, were killed when their panel truck collided with a Rockland Rocket train at a clearance intersection four miles northeast of Marion Clip. Their son Robert was hospitalized with head injuries. investigation suggests the truck slowed and skidded onto the track as the train, traveling about 40 miles per hour, struck. The crash delayed the Twin Cities Des Moines Rocket about forty minutes. no one on the train was injured.
