Relative Richard Muell of Missouri Valley chauffeured the mother to the hospital in a car borrowed for the last minute ride. The infant’s name is expected to be James. Morris James Kennedy 17 a Missouri Valley High School star and Iowa University freshman died after a two car crash south of Logan on Highway 30 while en route to Midnight Mass with his mother. The two cars collided head on after Kennedy attempted to pass a stalled vehicle. Petersen, 35 of Omaha, suffered critical injuries and was treated at Mercy Hospital Council Bluffs. Kennedy was a standout athlete, named to The Nonpareil All Southwest Town basketball team, and played football, basketball, and baseball. Funeral services planned at St Patrick's Church Missouri Valley with burial there. Kennedy survived by his mother and siblings including Irene Joann a freshman at Iowa University.
