Three year old John R. Rudolph of 7 GI Court was reported in good condition at Mercy hospital after convulsions at home Saturday. He was taken to the hospital by the emergency unit at 6 22 p.m. Saturday and firemen gave oxygen en route.
India’s Sir Benegal Rau said Friday the Chinese government indicated a desire to end the fighting in Korea as early as possible. U N.Vivinsky terms to end the war remain withdrawal of all foreign forces from Korea, and Chinese volunteers are not counted as foreign forces. Wu Hsiu chuan called Lie to the Waldorf apartment, asking for an official communication. Lie declined to comment. Rau reported Wu assured the 13 sponsoring nations that Peiping is giving careful consideration to halting the fighting at the 38th parallel.

City Manager Oliver D. Comstock announced the first section of a 15 page Civilian Defense booklet. He warned that a sudden unprovoked attack on Council Bluffs is a possibility and that the city would be vulnerable in all out war. The booklet explains how to take care of yourself with a second section to cover community care. About 5000 copies will be distributed to officials leaders and offices and some will go to civilian defense experts nationwide for review. Copies are available at the manager's office upon request.

Seoul, a 1 million plus capital, lies 30 miles south of the 38th parallel and about 80 air miles from the Eighth Army line in northwest Korea. The city was seized by Korean Reds on June 27 and retaken in September by allied forces after an Inchon landing.
