Dunlap farmer Harley Lester Lantz, 49, died Tuesday afternoon after his truck slid off County Road D into a ditch about five p.m. near Dunlap. Coroner W. J. Schumacher cited a fractured skull and crushed chest. Lantz was thrown from the vehicle. The icy road contributed to the fatal crash, the eighth traffic death in Harrison County in 1954.
