The army announced it will call up 7,862 reserve captains and lieutenants not in the organized reserve for 21 months on active duty by Oct 6. They come from all parts of the country and will fill officer gaps as national guard and organized reserve units mobilize. First Bluffs Man Is Hurt in Korea
Council Bluffs resident Sgt. 1/C Wendell S. Dorman, 38, son of Mr and Mrs W B Dorman, was slightly wounded in a July 31 Korean battle. He previously served in World War I Pacific campaigns and has been in service since 1941 with local guard units. Dorman is stationed in Japan with a wife and two children.
