War Assets Call for Bids on Des Moines Plant
CHICAGO The War Assets Administration regional office announced bids for the purchase or lease of the Des Moines ordnance plant covering about 900 acres. Proposals will be accepted up to 2 p.m. CST on August 27. The plant includes 19 industrial and 12 utility buildings, built by the army and operated by U S Rubber for ammunition loading and testing. Bids may cover part of the industrial buildings with optional utility buildings and services.

To Try Constable on Civil Rights Charge
Jacksonville Florida Sar Co. Suwannee County Constable Tom A Crews of Branford is to stand trial in federal court on charges of violating the civil rights of a Negro prisoner who died after an arrest last September.
