SOUTH BEND Ind P T ie Studebaker Corp notified its workers Saturday that the union Rejected a proposed pay cut and the company has no course but to terminate the labor agreement. Presidents Harold J Vance and Paul G Hoffman said the 60 day termination notice was given local union officials who will meet Monday. Union vice president T Forrest Hanna said most officers were away for the weekend but would return to consider the notice. The pay cut, presented at a Thursday meeting attended by about 5000, was rejected by a show of hands. Studebaker, paying about 237 cents an hour versus Ford GM and Chrysler 207, has struggled with declining production and losses.
