Washington reports a retail clothing spokesman said higher textile prices may bring back 2.25 shirts and 0.79 shorts on shelves. Jacksonville officers continued the hunt for three missing crew members from the tanker Home stead after it was struck by lightning and destroyed by fire at a dock. Captain Matthew A. Tunstall identified two crewmen and a dock watchman as unaccounted for following the disaster.

Laurence Sargeant of Estherville died Tuesday morning when he fell from a tree. Authorities say the fatal injury occurred after the fall, with rescue efforts begun promptly. His death is being investigated as an accidental death.
