Cottonwood Chautauqua Week of June 22 27 In Cottonwood

Local leaders organize Cottonwood Chautauqua to bring top act s and master musical groups to town for twelve lectures and entertainments with season tickets priced for adults and students. Tickets at businesses reserve seats and assure profits support the event.

Local Items Of Interest In Lewiston And Surroundings

Dr. Orr visited Lewiston Monday while residents report a flood of local happenings. Births include an 11-pound daughter for Mr. and Mrs. Stricker on May 1 and a son for Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Harrison on May 2. more births noted for Renterville and Winona families. Community notes cover visits, travels, plays, a high school performance of Oak Farm on May 11, and several residents in and out of town. Local business, farming, and property entries surface with real estate notices, timber deals near Cottonwood, and a water well completion in north Cottonwood. A Red Cross benefit ball drew crowds, and 17 draftees were welcomed home with well-wishing as they prepared for Camp Lewis. Idaho County and Cottonwood district exceed state quota in Liberty loan drive with $64 800 raised by today noon surpassing prior town totals. Subscriptions list includes local residents and organizations like Cottonwood Council 1389 Knights of Columbus and Renter ville Catholic Church. Public lecture by State Auditor Van Deu se n in Odd Fellows hall recounts Good Bookkeeping and the War. Lieutenant Governor Parker helped bring the speaker to town.

Judge C L McDonald to Speak for Red Cross Drive

Lewiston state Red Cross chairman Judge C L McDonald will address audiences at Cottonwood on Saturday May 11 and at Greencreek and Winona the following day with a large delegation and the Cottonwood Band. The meetings promote the Red Cross drive set to begin May. Everyone is urged to attend.
